Kate Graham is on a mission to kick-start the music scene in Torbay and Devon by founding Soundlaunch which specialises in musical development through songwriting and performance.

Kate's passion for music started at a young age with percussion clubs and then she learned how to play the piano and flute. Singing and performing came naturally to Kate, and after gaining a BA Hons, she went on to be a vocalist in rock bands like the progressive cult heroes, Mostly Autumn. Kate has played around the country and describes teaching as "a natural progression" in her career.

Music is just the most phenomenal thing to have in your life and can just help your well-being and your emotional welfare and so if you actually have an art form to express all those emotions, it can really help you in life.
— Kate Graham, Founder, Soundlaunch

If you've attended a Devon-based festival recently, then you're likely to have come across Kate and her Soundlaunch offering. The organisation is paving the way for emerging talent to perform in front of hundreds of people and gain experience to take their careers to the next level. Soundlaunch works with 12-21-year-olds who want learn about the music industry from songwriting to live production - the Soundlaunch team help each young person find their path with a hands-on, tailored approach.
