Torbay-based duo BKLYN. are gearing up for their upcoming album AND PERFORMED THEIR TRACK SHY live for THE LATEST edition of The Shorely Sessions.
The duo first formed in 2014 and received strong support from BBC Introducing from their first two tracks - Ashleigh and Car - which saw them perform at Bestival on the BBC Introducing Stage. Following this success, the band went on to receive a spot on the H&M in-store playlist in the US.
Fast forward to 2018, and the band plans to release their highly-anticipated debut album on 9th June. They recorded and mixed the album in Torquay at Josh Martins' (lead singer and guitarist) home studio. In their latest singles - NYC and Pick Up The Phone - Jack Bannock's electro-pop drums are forever present and while Josh's distinct voice sings about stories of loves and heartbreak. The band sonically resembles similarities to The 1975, but with a more raw feel; which represents their independent DIY attitude.
This edition of The Shorely Sessions gives us an insight into the upcoming album's atmosphere with the track Shy. Hearing the song come alive with a live performance in Torre Abbey's Spanish Barn - with the 11th century acoustics - you genuinely appreciate Josh and Jack's craft.
