WeSup are bringing a WeDo Energy To Torquay
Situated at MDL Marina, next to Torquay’s Pavilion, is a brand new space that we think everyone needs to know about. WeDo is a laid-back, modern approach to business and life. A place to see the Bay through new eyes and with renewed energy. We met with Harry James-Mills to find out more about this multi-faceted venue.
WeSup is an active brand that has three hubs across the UK which invite people to discover with stand up paddleboarding, relax with Sup yoga and explore the world around them. Joining their hubs in Falmouth and Southampton is the new branch in Torquay, which sits in Torquay's Marina. WeDo - the Torquay Hub - offers many different forms of 'energy'.
"We are an energy space," said WeSup Director Harry James-Mills. "We created this beautiful space so people can come and energise themselves".
The versatile area gives you access to different things like their SUP activity. "We're a specialised standup paddleboard centre - we've got one down in Falmouth, one up in Southampton, so this is nicely situated in the middle." - Harry James-Mills, WeSup Director.
WeDo also offers Sup yoga classes, kayak and jet ski activities, but it's not all about the fast pace. There's also a space to slow down and relax. WeDo offer an artisan coffee and some great looking food while looking over those stunning Riviera views.
"It's all about getting out there and building a community; this space is for like-minded people who want to come and do more, and be a part of something."
- Harry James-Mills, WeSup Director.
Harry and the team are open-minded with people coming forward to use the space how they want. The Summer Series has already put on a music-led soiree, but WeDo want people from different backgrounds to come forward.
"This is an open space; we're open to anyone to coming forward with anything that is interesting. Whether that's music, art exhibitions, product launches, inspirational speakers, or even breakfast meetings, this space has been built for that." Harry James-Mills, WeSup Director.
The collaborative community feeling is built into the foundations of the WeDo building, as they also have a retail store inside where you can shop with a simple modern sportswear brand called Do.
"The sportswear brand we're working with called Do. They're an amazing brand and are actually owned by Pro Direct up the road. They're all about connecting to nature, setting yourself free and becoming active."
The energy hub offers classes for people who want to expand their horizons. WeSup offer classes for their activities at all levels, as well as facilities to freshen up after an energised session.
It’s great to see such a positive gaggle of young entrepreneurs creating a truly stunning and unique experience in the Bay. Pop-in and have a chat with Harry and the team; take a paddleboard out onto our sheltered waters; or just sit back and enjoy the views with a lovely coffee or a cheeky slice of cake.
