01. Ben Fogle: Tales from the Wilderness
Princess Theatre, torquay

Date: Friday 29 March 2019
Location: Princess Theatre

TV personality Ben Fogle has become a modern day journey man; from Antarctica to conquering Everest. Ben is taking on an evening in Torquay at the Princess Theatre. The multi-media show will include tales of swimming with crocodiles, saving elephants, dodging pirates, being marooned for a year on an uninhabited island, walking to the South Pole, crossing the Empty Quarter with camels, rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, tracking the migration of the Wilder-beast, swimming from Alcatraz, having a flesh eating disease and messing around with ferrets! This is not your average trip to the theatre! Oh and there’s an opportunity for Q&A with Ben too!

02. Network on International Woman’s Day
Kind Grind, Torquay

Location: The Kind Grind

Be inspired this International Women’s Day with a coffee, cake and motivational talk by some fantastic speakers at The Kind Grind. This networking event is a great opportunity to collaborate and learn from the likes of Katie Cavanna and Rachaele Hambleton; both inspirational figures from their fields. They will also be raising money for Plan International who work in 76 countries to advance children’s rights and equality for girls as well as collecting donations for the Red Box Project.

03. The Kris Barras Band
The Foundry, Torquay

Location: The Foundry

The Kris Barras Band has had a whirlwind year becoming one of the UK’s biggest rising stars in 2018. Now after two years, the band are heading back to their hometown as part of their UK Tour. The band released the critically acclaimed ‘The Divine And Dirty’ in March 2018, topping the iTunes Blues charts as well achieving number 1’s in the both the Amazon CD/Vinyl and Digital charts.

04. New Discoveries of the Roman Empire

10. Celebrate World Book Day at Paignton Zoo

Paignton Zoo

In collaboration with Torbay Libraries, Paignton Zoo are planning to expand your imagination even further for World Book Day. The books being read by the library will be Jungle Jamboree (by Jo Empsom) and Oi Frog (by Kes Gray and Jim Field) as well as animal mask making sessions and children can come to the Zoo dressed as their favourite book character to be in with the chance to win a standard animal adoption of their choice.

11. Meet the local makers Brixham Sunday Markets

Fore Street

Food, arts, crafts and local traders: come and see what delights await at this Brixham market. The market specialises in fresh local foods including breads and buns, cheeses, meats, pasties, gluten-free baked items, honeys, juices and preserves and and hand crafted items such as jewellery, cushions, paintings/prints and garden ornaments. There are also speciality hot foods of local and international origin.

12. Greenway Camellia Festival
Greenway House, Churston

Greenway House

Celebrate the Camellia Garden of Excellence at the iconic Greenway House. See the floral displays within the house and around the garden buildings, which will highlight flowers from the camellia collection at Greenway. A changing daily programme of walks, talks and activities will explore the history of the camellia garden at Greenway, the plants found here, care and cultivation of camellias, and art and writing inspired by this precious flower.
